Music Posters

This poster for Ed Sheeran is really different as he is not the main focus of the shot, it is the cat at the front of the picture that the focus is on. I like the monochrome image as it's quite a simple poster and i think colour would make it too busy and not as nice to look at.
The title and the advertisement for the next gigs are really well placed as they frame the image.

Gabriella Cilmi - Sweet About Me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvuyYj5ROmk&ob=av2e

This is a close up shot of the artist picking up their microphone. The use of neutral colours are used throughout the video.

This is a good shot as its at a strange angle, it introduces the artist as well as starting the song.

This medium shot shows everyone in the band, introducing them all. The main focus is the drum in the centre of the shot. Everyone around is framing the drums.

This shot also uses a different angle. The camera rotates around the person wrapped up in rope and then the man end up the right way round.

This shot uses depth of field, the focus is on her legs and the figure in the background is out of focus. They use a focus pull to change this which then switches the focus onto the man in the background.

This shot uses the 180 rule. You can still see the artist singing however the other person in the shot is still the main focus of the shot.

Here is a close up shot of the guitarist strumming his guitar. There are some other close up shots through the video of the instruments.

This is a long shot of the location where the video is shot. It shows all of the props that are used in the video and gives you a clear view of the man tied up, hanging upside down.

I like this shot as you can see a figure there but not very clearly. The gates to the lift are slightly camouflaging the man behind. This shows the neutral colour scheme which runs through the video quite well.

This final shot is a close up of the rope that is holding the man upside down. The main artist then goes and cuts the rope so that the man falls down.

Rizzle Kicks - Miss Cigarette

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA_tBIOt8MY

This introducing shot introduces the main person who the song is about, she is featured several times throughout the music video. This shot sums up the title of the song 'Miss Cigarette'.

I love the way they use a fish eye lens through the video, it adds a certain dimension to the shot which helps make the thing in the centre a main focus.

This shot uses a very strong depth of field making the main subject the cigarette hens the title of the music video.

This is a really nice close up shot of the drummer hitting his drums, on top of the drums there's something on them as when he hits them it goes up and the camera manages to capture it.

This shot also uses depth of field but not as much as the other one as the girl in the background is still visible and quite clear however the main focus is on the artist at the front of the shot.

I chose this shot as it's just quite different as its from the side and they are both in focus, i also like the contrast of the dark background and the slight burst of colour on the hat in the shot.

This shot stood out as the light from lighting her cigarette also lights up her face, i also like how her hair is blowing to one side.

This is another fish eye shot which looks really good due to the very symmetrical settings around them with the town houses, railings and cars. The curve on the shot makes it a lot easier to focus on.

Another close up shot of an instrument that is being played throughout the music video. I like how we don't see the musicians face just focusing on the guitar.

This very final shot also uses a fish eye which is a really nice effect as not many music videos use it. The close up out of focus finger pointing looks really good too.

Kid Rock - All Summer Long

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwIGZLjugKA&ob=av2e

This introducing shot sets the location on the lake and introduces the artist as he isn't featured much in the actual music video.

I love all of the effects that have been put on these shots as it makes them feel more rustic. This shot introduces the two main people in the music video. I like the contrast between the black and white tops they are wearing.

This close up shot of a typical american number plate is really nice as the red and the blue go really well together. Also they have used a different angle than just straight.

This is one of the few shots of the actual artist performing through the whole music video. It stars with a birds eye view shot and then pans around to the front of the stage where you can see the whole band perform.

This long shot of the boat is really nice as the way they have filmed it is that they have a camera on another boat that drives around the main one with the dancers on it. The location of this shot is really good too.

Here is a close up shot of a DJ playing his set on the boat.

Here is a medium shot of both actors whilst fishing. I really like the grain throughout this video.

I really like this shot. It as if its from one of the passengers perspective. It shows most of the location by the lake as well.

This shot is nice as the sun is reflecting on the lake. I like the shot from behind too.

This final shot is really good as they use depth of field. Stil using the grain effect they have added  splash  of color with the car and the shine of the wheel really brightens up the shot.

Ed Sheeran - The A Team

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAWcs5H-qgQ

This starting shot is a close up of an emotional woman, the shot then goes onto a dead body that she is looking at.

Throughout the whole music video they use a monochrome effect which portrays emotion really well as this music video is based a lot on emotions due to one persons actions. This shot shows the location and introduces the story of the video. A homeless girl asleep on a park bench.

This is a really nice behind shot as the figure is centered making in the main focal point. the open sky is a nice contrast with the harsh black coat that she is wearing.

This shot uses a time lapse as the busy background is moving whilst she is the main focus with the most amount of light shining on her. The busy background with lots of people walking around puts an emphasis on how lonely she is.

This close up shot captures the emotion on her face. They also use depth of field as she is the main focus and the background is not in focus.

This medium\long shot also used time lapse as whilst she' sitting down people are walking past very quickly to show time go by. It also shows how lonely she is.

This is another close up shot also capturing her emotion, she is clearly upset and the camera captures this very well.

I like this shot as its a reflection of her in the mirror trying to get herself together and look better. It is later shown in the video why.

This long shot is really interesting as the people in the middle are framed by the paneled walls and patterned ceiling. I also like the way they have used the light at the end of the corridor to focus your eyes on.

This final shot represents why she was doing her hair in the mirror and is one of the end shots in the video. I like how you can't see any faces just a figure and her hands with the main focus being on the money.
