Pixie Lott - Broken Arrow

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVnvikQpEig&ob=av2e

This shot that starts the video is very dark and not in an obvious setting. Pixie Lott then appears through the crowd wearing a striking white hat which makes her stand out due to the contrast with the dark background.

This is a close up shot of her face whilst she is singing, it stays on her face for a few seconds.

Here is another close up shot of her face however it is in a different setting. It is very dark which therefore means that it isn't an obvious shot of where she is.

This is a shot of when she arrives in the crowd of people in the introducing shot. Her white hat and bright blonde hair helps her stand out.

This is a really nice close up angled shot of Pixie Lott. The colours that have been used are all neutral which makes the shot blend.

This is a medium shot with 2 figures partly shown in the frame. I really like the shape of her arms as it creates a focal point. Throughout the music video they use a dulled effect which calms down the colours and gives it a very relaxed feeling throughout.

This medium/long shot captures Pixie lying on the floor moving around which then bursts into dance. This shot also has very mellow colours giving it a cool feeling.

There are several close up shots throughout this music video all capturing different emotions. In this dark shot there is a lot of light reflecting off her clothing and jewellery.

Adele - Rolling in the Deep

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYEDA3JcQqw&ob=av2e

This opening shot introduces the artist whilst the song begins to play, the camera also zooms whilst panning around her when she starts to sing.

This long shots main focus is on the person in the middle. The bright lights that are shining down on the figure make him the main focal point. The plastic like walls with the bright lights shining off them are framing the centre figure.

This is another long shot of the artist from a different angle than before, it gives you a different perspective of the location. The shot then zooms into her.

This shot if of a drummer sitting under the stairs, a light places above him then flashes on and off in time to the beat of the music, shortly after there is a close up of the drummers foot on the bass drum going along with the beet to.

In this shot the camera pans across a floor of full cups and when the beat kicks into the music the water starts shaking. The shot really captures all of the glasses on the floor creating a bigger effect then the beat comes in.

This is another shot of the figure in the centre of the room however in this one he is moving around in a powder like substance on the floor which then moves around.

This medium shot is of a plates being thrown onto a hard surface and smashing, the camera really picks up the smashing and crumbling of the plates which then land on top of the other smashed objects.

Here is the close up shot of the drummer hitting his bass drum to the beat of the music.

This close up is quite interesting after having so much going on earlier in the video. The black background make the white objects really stand out.

It then finishes with a medium shot of the black background with the white paper towers whilst sprinkler/firework things are going off above. The white smoke coming from them is a good contrast with the black background aswell.

California King Bed - Rihanna

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhBorPm6JjQ

I love this introducing shot as it shows the artist from a birds eye view and then slowly zooms in towards her face. Throughout this music video there is a really good use of contrast with the colour as all of the shots are either in bright light or have lots of bright colours in.

This shot stood out for me due to the bright light beaming through the location, the bright light behind the trees sets the focus on the landscape of the shot. The contrast between all the different shades of yellow looks really appealing too.

This shot is really interesting as all of the colours in it are faint and soft apart from the main focus which is Rhiannas hair colour. This really makes the shot stand out.

This is part of the music video where the colour and picture begins to get a lot clearer and has quite a few close up panning shots.

This is another close up shot which is mainly focused on the featured artist.

I like this depth of field shot where the focus starts on the man behind then a focus pull is used to the put the focus onto the person infront.

This medium shot is really nice as it has such a mixture of colours which have been captured. The colour of Rhianna's hair really does capture your attention along with the red chair and bright lights.

I really like how depth of field is used here to focus your eye on his cross tattoo on his shoulder rather than on his face. Focus pull is also used in this shot.

The contrast of this black and white shot is really goos as throughout the music video bright colours have been the main focus so a monochrome shot really changes the way you see the video.

This really bright end shot really pops out after having the black and white scene before, I also like how the singer isn't a main feature as she has almost blended in with all of the colours.

I Blame Coco - Self Machine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j6VoW6vv9Y

This is a good medium shot to introduce the artist and gives you a small idea of the location. This shot then zooms into her face and stays on her for a few seconds as she starts to sing.

I really like this shot as the two people running up the corridor are framed by the two brick walls. The sepia effect also looks good as it almost blurs out the two people in the shot.

Here is a close up shot of her face which then pans around her to see her full facial expressions, she is also singing for a few seconds in this shot.

This shot shows another actor in the music video, it is a medium shot which then flows into a close up.

In this part of the video all of the extra actors who are in the empty swimming pool hold a clear sheet and then let go of it which then blows up to the ceiling creating a nice effect.

I really like this close up shot as it uses depth of field which helps you focus on the main part which is the girl in the front of the shot, the main focus of her is the helmet that she is wearing.

This medium shot of the main artist is good as the lighting is mainly focused on her which makes her the focal point of the shot.

This shot happens after the previous one when everyone comes into shot and the camera pans around to get everyone in the shot.

This final shot is of the main artist floating using the effect of bubbles to make it look like she is i the swimming pool. All of the extras who are around her start to float up around her however the light is still mainly focused on her which keeps your eye on the most important person.
